He's not. His job is to keep the faithful in His own church of approximately a billion souls from what we consider "heresy". We may have to offend some people if we tell the truth about our faith there is no getting around it.

Don't you find it interesting that in long ago Byzantium that the Muslim faith was causing a lot of violence and bloodshed, and it still is today. We are not against the Muslim people but they are misled.

The Pope is not trying to start a war, he merely quoted a passage from an old article.

If the article implied that the Muslim religion is unstable, the Muslims themselves prove that it is by their burning of churches and trying to kill people who make mild criticism.

Other religions don't go off on a wild rampage over something of no real consequence, Other religions also don't feel that they have to kill people who decide to leave that faith.

Why is the world so upset about that one religion? If its' representation in heaven is good, why worry about things mere humans say?

He's not. He's trying to have a decent discussion on the use of violence in religion and religion in violence.
And some people have completely misconstrued and twisted and taken some of what he said out of context and gone rampaging.
I wonder if they actually read what the Pope said at all, or were just told a perverted version.

I bet not one person who responded to this question read over or listened to the pope's entire speach. Why don't you try that, and then you will understand that he was not trying to start a war. I am not even one of his followers, but I still know that he intended no harm by his remarks. He just screwed up, plain and simple.

Because he wants all the world to be Catholics.
And the U.S.A. is his bully to get the dirty job done.
In the end this will back fire on the Pope, they will burn Rome soon. Rev. 17:16.

Catholics were once rulers of the world or so they thought. The pope wasn't trying ot start a war, it was a level if arrogance that made him forget that there is a certain respect in the world for other's thoughts and opinions.

However, as I saw on the news tonight mostly catholics have been the victim of his words. It's a shame that one man can have enough power to cause this kind of issue.

Good LUCK!
