so theres this guy thats my friend. him and i are pretty tight. we talk at church and we talk online. he lives in a different city, but not too far. i am a year older than him, but that doesn't really matter. my friend says he "steals glances" at me and every once in a while i catch him looking at me like i mean a lot to him. but other times, he avoids me and seems a little weird or nervous or something?? i don't know whats going on when this happens! and i want to know if i should keep flirting with him or lay off a little.

He may be just as confused as you are. Boys are strange creatures. One minute they act all into you and the next it's like they revert back to the playground days when you pulled a girls hair or hit her or something stupid to let her know you like her. I would just play it by ear. Don't back off too much, but don't come on too strong. Maybe bring it up when the time seems right, obviously not when he is trying to avoid you...lol. Just causually ask him why it seems like he avoids you sometimes. Maybe he is just having a bad day then or something is on his mind. You could always try seeing if he wants to go hang out at a movie, football game, bowling or anything else you guys might enjoy just the two of you and see what his reaction is. But, no matter what you do, make sure you do it casually so there won't be that awful uncomfortableness to it. Hope this helps.

Just continue to work on the friendship, sounds like that is what he wants. No sense getting in a hurry and wishing later that you hadn't.

Be aggressive with him. Obviously he is too shy to make a move, so take the initiative and talk to him first.
