All I did was putting chicken and boil it in water for an hour or so. The soup has some sour taste to it.

I made another pot with a different brand chicken. It tastes much better without the sour taste.

Is it the freshness of the chicken ? Or different brand of chicken will taste differently in soup making.

Just chicken and water and salt. Nothing else.

I bought the chicken from one of the local big supermarket chain. It is onsale and it looked ok to me. It is a brand i am not familiar with though

Later I bought a famous brand and pricey chicken. It gives me good favors without a sour taste to it.

I just wonder if anyone knows why or any differences cause I don't cook much at all.

There is no way it should have a sour taste unless you use contaminated water or bad chicken. Did you eat it? If so, did you feel ill? The brand of chicken should not have anything to do with it hon.

I don't think it has anything with the chicken's brand. Must be the chicken itself. Probably you didn't wash it well or the chicken is bad already.

I'd say it's the freshness of the chicken, not the brand.
