Chocolate, of itself, is very bitter. In order to overcome this bitterness, confectioners add lots of sugar. Try this, next time you open a package of chocolate, read the ingredients. They are listed on the package in order from greatest quantity to least. In some candy, chocolate isn't even the first ingredient, sugar is.

They come from the cocoa bean and it is either dark chocolate or milk chocolate and know for its sweetness. All i can say is that I am a chocolate lover so chocolate is never to sweet for me.

chocolate isn't naturally sweet. Sugar is added because people wouldn't like it without the sugar. Different kinds of chocolate have different amounts.

Pure chocolate is considered to be very bitter but to make it sellable to the general market they add sugar, milk (or milk powder) and vanilla to sweeten it up.

Too much sugar, but they have to b/c if they don't it changes the texture.

sugar added, try swiss lindt 80% cocoa bar, its bitter & a hint ofsweet, i love it.
