Hamlet says that an actor can cry real tears while playing a part. He's not really upset, but he acts like it for the performance. On the other hand Hamlet, whose father has been murdered and whose mother married the murderer, doesn't even cry although he really is upset. And even if he did cry, what would be the point? Tears don't mean anything; an actor can cry whenever he chooses.
