How often do you say the word "SPINAL" when speaking to other men? It really depends on what we are talking about. If it is something involving the gut -- or if a guy walks by preceded by an enormous gut -- yes, of course the word is used. But it isn't normally part of our everyday conversation, just as spinal isn't likely to be part of your everyday conversation.

I have. Usually when I was a kid with "I hate his/her guts!" or as I got older with "You gut the fish." How often do I say this word? Rarely.

Yes. This is my gut reaction. I.e. I use it only in transitive sence. In literal sence, I use stomach.
