God does not usually show us His will by performing outward signs, Rather, He usually speaks to us through His quiet inner voice. To hear this voice, we must tune our hearts to God’s heart. Our hearts are like soil that must be cultivated to be fertile and responsive.

I have been through many trials and tribulations in my life, especially the last year in a half, most would have had a breakdown from the adversitys I have secretly kept and fought through but the one thing I have always had and never let go is my relationship with God, my Father.
There are six steps I feel that can prepare your heart to be sensitive to God’s leading. Since cultivating your heart takes time, weeks or perhaps months, you may be performing many of the steps at the same time. Nevertheless, breaking down the process into six separate steps allows you to be able to visualize what’s needed. In summary, they are:

Step 1: Be obedient to what God has already shown you.

The first thing we should do is become obedient to the obvious things, the things we know we should already be doing. These are the commonsense things clearly spelled out in the Bible. For example, we know we should not lie, cheat or steal. We cannot expect God to reveal more to us when we haven’t followed what He has already shown us.

Before God gives you direction in the "important" things, you must first be obedient with the small things he has already shown you. This is the area where most of us Christians fail. We don’t realize God has already revealed His desire for us in so many areas. If we are not obedient with the small tasks, how can we be trusted with the larger tasks?

Step 2: Pray and continually seek God’s wisdom and guidance in everything you do.

I try to make it a point at the beginning of each day to ask God to provide me with wisdom and guidance for everything I will encounter throughout the day. During the day, when I am faced with a new issue or concern, I ask God for wisdom and direction. Although I don’t seek God’s wisdom for everything I do, such as, "What gas pump should I use?" I try to cultivate my heart so it will be open to His leading even on small "insignificant" things

Step 3: Rearrange your priorities so your primary motivation is to glorify God

God created us for the purpose of bringing glory to Himself. Our primary goal and focus should be to bring Him glory. Everything we do should center around this. Even "important" things such as witnessing and world evangelism should not be our primary motivation it is much better to do God’s will than to do God’s work

Step 4: Saturate yourself with the Word of God.

There is no better way of knowing what’s important to God than by reading His Word. The Bible clearly states God’s position on a large number of issues and a systematic Bible study will reveal many of these to you. However, there are still many other areas that the Bible does not address directly. To understand God’s will in these areas, you must have a good understanding of the whole Bible. A good way to do this is to continually listen to the Bible on tape. Our spiritual walk is like a wheel that must be perfectly balanced. As the wheel is centered on the axle, our focal point should be centered on bringing glory to God. If our desire is to glorify God, then many of our priorities will automatically align themselves properly

Step 5: Learn from the examples of others

The Bible tells us in verse 1 Cor. 10:1-11 we are to learn from the lives of the people in the Bible. Study their lives and see how God directed them. Learn from their mistakes and victories. The lives of believers who lived after the Bible was written can also be a rich source of examples. Think of these people as great teachers who will enlighten you in their area of expertise. Remember, of course, anything in their lives that contradicts the Bible should not be followed.

Step 6: Get involved in a variety of ministries

Exposing yourself to other ministries not only increases your spiritual vision, but it also gives God the opportunity to open and close doors. If you look at the lives of powerful Christians, you’ll find many of them got their start by "temporarily" helping out in a ministry which later became their life work.

Dont get me wrong, I am no expert, I still fall short of Gods glory, but it is through his grace I still stand! After all the things I have lost in my life, all the pain, and sorrow I have been through, even when I step off the path, God is always there with me, I am just a piece of clay that molded by the potters hand

Your question of How do find God, sweetie God was never lost, he is in you, in your heart, in your soul and in your spirit, open your heart and receive his glory

Peace and Love

I'd love to share you this story from Anandamayi Ma (Mother of Permeated Bliss):

"To give an illustration of God's game of hide and seek. Anandamayi Ma tells the following story. A wealthy merchant once went on a business trip. A thief in the disguise of a businessman joined him, intent upon robbing him at the earliest suitable ocasion. Every morning, before leaving the inn in which they happened to have put up for the night, the merchant would count the money quite openly and then put it into his pocket. At night the merchant went to sleep seemingly without suspicion. While he was asleep, the thief would frantically search through all the belongings of the merchant without being able to find the money. After several nights of frustrating searching, the thief finally in resignation confessed to the merchant his true intention and pleaded with him to tell him how he was able to hide his money so successfully. The merchant replied casually: "I knew from the beginning what you were up to. So, every night I placed the money under your pillow. I could safely sleep, knowing fully well that that would be the one place where you would never look." And Anandamayi Ma comments: "God is within everyone, but man goes out in search of Him. This is what constitutes God's Play and God's Creation."

Actually, the way it works is He finds you... Get alone somewhere and just ask Him to make Himself known to you... Read His word - the Bible - and watch what happens... Start in the New Testament in the Book of John (also known as the Gospel of John) and before starting to read, ask Him to let you know Him more and to open your heart to understand... Attend a non-denominational Christian church and ask the Pastor or a member there where you could get some good basic teachings... Also, pick up a book or two from a Christian bookstore on basic Biblical truths... Keep praying and you'll find Him...
"Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near." - Isaiah 55:6

I have read and examined a lot of spiritual texts including the Bible, Bhavigad Gita, Upanishads, Torah, Talmud, Zohar, Tibetan book of the dead, Tao Te Ching.....
I have been to church, temple, mosque and worshiped with Christains, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus

After doing all this the book that I read about all this stuff that makes the most sense is Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now"

Buy the CD version of this book and listen to it slowly and meditate to it....it will help you understand the nature of religion and spirituality....and here’s a clue....there is a universal intelligence and whether you call it GOD or the source or whatever it doesn't matter...and here is another clue......you get to this source by looking within...not without.

Good Luck!!

Contemplate why there exists an idea of right and wrong, and how we all fail to be honest, kind, fair, and good to one another. Why would the human mind even develop an ability to perceive right and wrong, and have the ability to decide good or bad? Do you believe in the idea of fair play? That some things should be a certain way, because it is "right"? I believe there is a God that wants us to behave and think and be a certain way, and that we all fail to do this. That He wants things in this universe to be right. Furthermore, God loves us so much that rather than making us automata pre-programmed to adore Him, we instead have the ability to freely choose to love and worship God. That way the faith and love are authentic.

God is everywhere you just have to open your heart and mind. Look around you. People, life, and the world is a beautiful place and the more you open your heart the more amazing it becomes. When I am in doube I just look around at the simple things we take for granted everyday. Have you ever really looked at a spider web or staired up a redwood tree, looked into the eyes of a smiling child held the hand of and elderly person, heard laughter and joy. These simple things are reminders to me that God is with us.

In the world of reality, whatsoever is captured by the senses, seen or unseen is real. In the world of faith, whatsoever is captured by the senses, seen or unseen is unreal and can never be held as God because the Real God can never be imagined by imagination and can never be captured by the senses. The Real God is Real; and can be realized by the creatures in faith only. After the acceptance of faith and practice of good deeds and by the answer of the prayers asked in the presence of God, God is almost realized by the heart. Once God is realized, God is realized forever and only then one can realize the reality of The Real God.

God says:
‘I and I Alone am God
and all other gods are unreal.’
We know all other gods are very much seen and can be perceived and imagined easily. Since, they are imaginable images, they can be destroyed and that is what makes them Unreal.

You could find God anywhere. Just talk to him. He's always there next to you even though we don't see him he's real. Start a conversation with him like if you are having a conversation like if you are having one with your friend. Trust me, that he will give you signs to let you know that he is listening and that he cares for you like no one else does.

I had the same question, several years ago. I asked someone that question, because she was a very spiritual person, and I admired her. She told me to ask God to come into of my life. I did what she said, and my life has never been the same. I am so happy and peaceful inside, and I literally have miracles happen, frequently. Just say the words, "God please come into my life"

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." God is not hiding. He is knocking at the door of your and every heart, waiting for you to open to Him, so that He may come in and dwell inside of you. The problem is that we are blinded by sin and the passions to not be able to see Him. That is why it is necessary to become "pure in heart" - to fight against one's ego, the passions and the sin that (as St. Paul describes) "clings so closely" to our fallen human nature.

The fist step in all of this is to want to find God in all sincerity. Next, to pray earnestly and with humility and contrition of heart that He help you to be able to find Him.

Once you have made the first step, He will help you with the rest.

May God bless you and save you.
