The only thing I can think of to use the word gut is with gut feeling and no I don't use this word on a daily basis at all.

You know in my life time I can probably count on one hand how many times I have said the word gut~even if it was to say my gut feeling~

i dont usually use the word gut i mean i HATE the word tummy so i use stomach but i dont think i have ever used the word gut and if i have it has been in the using your gut instincts kind of way!!

yes i talk about patients puking there guts up when ever im at work .. unproffessional maybe but i wud never say it to a client!!
