That's a very important and valid question especially to those with specific cultures and traditions and self/family pride!
Since he gave you a solid answer on your 'if' question...it's time for you to either meet the parents and/or begin asking him more specific questions about how he thinks you will fit in to the cultural/traditional guidelines of marriage to him. If he tells you there is hope based on his love for you but little hope of his parents agreeing to allow his love over their traditions or choice. Hey, why spin your wheels in this relationship?
Bottom line: He's definitely not in a relationship for love. His is 'conditional' and valid but not very romantic. :(

is this the way he spoke to u?? "do u have some self respect?" if he has to do everything from his parents's wish then i hope he has taken their permission to have this relationship with u ! if he has not then tell him that since he is so much dedicated to his parents,he shd not have this relationship if they dont wish to and whenever he comes to c u next time,he shd come with a consent letter from his parents or u r breaking up as there r a lot of guys who r not hypocrites.

You asked a hypothetical question and he gave you an answer. What are you worried about? At the moment, the situation doesn't even exist.

I think you are blowing things out of proportion. You asked him a hypothetical question. He didn't actually say he wouldn't marry u did he?

from your point of view, its your question, it never happen, no parents on earth would stop their child from looking for happiness , you just think too much. if it really happen then you should leave him cz he care his family more than u which mean family 1st and you 2nd .
