Nowadays it is a little vague. Mostly it is the best man's responsibility to get the groom to the wedding on time and in one piece, traditionally the best man is to pay the priest/justice for services rendered. It is usually assumed that the best man is also responsible to set up the bachelor's party for the groom.
In olden days if for some reason the groom was unable to show or didn't show to the wedding, the best man would step in and marry the bride but I have never heard of that happening in modern times.

You are in charge of the rings (holding them) plus making sure the groom shows up. Plus it is your job to keep him calm. You should also propose a toast to the groom and bride at their reception. Have fun......
