Put them in a large plastic freezer bag,not the one with the zipper piece on it, They will cut the bag when you reclose it. Use the freezer bag that you press the groves together to close
Colsed the bag almost shut and with your mouth, suck all of the air out of the bag and close.
This is now like a vavumn seal, is cheaper in works just fine. Wrap the bag in aluminum foil. put foam peanuts in the box, then cookies and then more foam peanuts and seal the box.. They will think they are home. I am a Nam vet. Hope they make it back home too.

I use quart ziplock bags and put 4-6 cookies in each bag making use there is no air in the bag. They can be packed tightly in a Priority Box and sent and stay fresh. I do this to send cookies to my grandchildren. If they do break--they love the large crumbs!!!!

The best way to keep anything fresh is to vacuum bag them. There are home models. Try eBay.

I wrap each cookie individually, then put in air tight container. This keeps them from getting crushed. My daughter is in army in Hawaii. She is yet to get a stale cookie.

Along with the ziplock bags, you can also add a slice of bread to not only prevent dryness, but to also bring moistness back to items that have started drying out.

I've seen Pringles cans used before. but you have to box them afterward They have a foil lining for freshness. Clean them out first.

Use a plastic ice cream pail and a couple slices of bread on top. When my ex-hubby was stationed in Japan, I did this all the time; he said they were perfect every time!!!
