Sadly, it is possible:( You have been given some physical reasons for it to happen. But it can also be mental. People may start these things when they are under a lot of stress. At the age of 22 yrs old I started "sleep eating" The same thing as sleep walking. I would get up and eat. The doctor simply put me on a very VERY low dose of sleep medicine and it stopped. It wasn't so bad, just a little disorienting to wake up in the morning and see an empty swiss roll cake package on the counter. lol
But I got through it.

If you're thinking of murdering your girlfriend, and claiming you did it while you were sleepwalking, don't bother. It's already been tried, and the guy went to prison anyway.
According to wikipedia sleepwalking can occur at any age, with it being more prevalent in males, and declining as the person ages.
Guess you're destined to walk for 20 more years, huh?

I would believe it possible. If the sleepwalking is because a body is low on blood sugar during the night, and exercise helps release blood sugar, the brain may override the other muscles and make one walk.
The sleepwalker may want to eat a high protein, low carbohydrate snack about one hour before bedtime, to level out the blood sugar, so there are no lows.
More info on low blood sugar (but not sleepwalking) is at www.hufa.org.

Sleep walking is caused by stress. I have had this problem on and off my whole life. It only comes when I am having a struggle to make a decision, or when I have an area of conflict. It seems to me that I am pacing, or trying to get something done to relieve my anxiety. When the stress goes down, I stop sleep walking. I have asked my Dr about this and he agreed with me. I have heard of sleep walking as a side effect of meds as well. ( Ambien for one)

It could be possible. It would help had you described why you think you're sleep walking. I've actually walked in my sleep before, but I was about 8 or 9 years old at the time. It's just too weird isn't it?
