God says anything that comes out ot the mouth comes from your heart so if you cuss and use bad words then your heart is not right with God James 3:10 and Eph 4:25-29 and 31 many more scriptures

Third commandment: "Thou shalt not swear falsely by the name of the LORD..."
This commandment is to never take the name of God in a vain, pointless or insincere oath (Rashi). This includes four types of prohibited oaths: an oath affirming as true a matter one knows to be false, an oath that affirms the patently obvious, an oath denying the truth of a matter one knows to be true, and an oath to perform an act that is beyond one's capabilities[citation needed].

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

corrupt words are curse words, God has called Christians to be set apart, different

1 Peter 2:
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
and in not cursing as the world does, people may se your light shine and not confuse you with an unbeliever

Colossians 3:8
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Actual swearing is the Lords name in vain but we are judged by our words and it wont appear intelligent to do too much of those redneck words.. Usually most ministers just set a good example

King James Holy Bible ........Proverbs 29 : 20... Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words ? there is more hope of a fool than of him.. ..............Ecclesiastes 5 : 2 .......Be not rash with thy mouth , and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God : for God is in heaven and thou upon earth : therefore let thy words be few .................James 3 : 10 - 13 ........Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessings and cursing. My brethren , these things ought not so to be ...Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter ? ....Can the fig tree , my bretheren , bear olive berries ? either a vine , figs ? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh ....Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you ? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically what the Bible is telling you is that if you are a child of God , your vocabulary should be bringing honor and glory to the Lord , and you can`t do that with filty words that are not of God ...

This is not a religious question, swearing and using foul language is fine. Sure, it does no harm. The only real thing that it does is highlights the users lack of imagination and a vastly limited vocabulary. The more erudite soul will employ artistic license when offending the offending party, instead of calling them a "dumb 'f'," compliment them by refering to them as the cream of their society... ...rich and thick!

I don't think the F word and what not are forbidden.. but I think the reasoning behind the church disliking them is because it starts a downward slippery slope to sin... and it just isnt pleasant. Plus often they are directed at people, which goes against the rules of treating everyone kindly. hope that helps

CUSSING IS NOT TAKING THE LORDS NAME IN VAIN. CALLING YOURSELF BY HIS NAME AND WALKING LIKE EVERYONE KNOWS WHOS YOU REALLY ARE IS TAKING HIS NAME IN VAIN. CUSSING JUST SHOWS WHOS YOU REALLY ARE. IT'S A WAY OF LIFE THAT THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO TAKE HIS NAME AND FOLLOWING THE REST OF HIS COMMANDMENTS COMPREHEND.

It is a matter of culture. Different words and ideas are taboo in different cultures. In the UK the word "bloody" is considered an obscenity, as is "shag". Our culture is permeated with religion, and by controlling the language we use they have another way to control us and our emotions (making us feel guilty when we slip up and say the wrong things).

These words have been deemed inappropriate. That's why they're "bad."
The commandment originally meant calling upon God to ratify a false oath. Most of our "bad" words aren't oaths.
That's not to say they're very nice, but they're not, technically, swears.
