I guess the worst part is over and no need to be scared since your Dad will be fine and normal once it heals -there may be a tiny scar but that shouldn't be a big deal and if you once the doctor OKs it put Vitamin E oil on the scar it'll fade. Right now you need to support your dad and if he needs things get them for him, make sure he's comfortable-fluff his pillow-make sure he gets fresh water to drink and most important he can't have a lot of stress so that means you need to be on your best behavior ever-he'll appreciate that and so will your Mom-time for all to do their part and yours is to be a good kid and make yourself handy when he needs help. Also ask your mother what you can do -for having to nurse your Dad and take care of the house and family has her hands full,I'm sure and I bet she'd really appreciate your help and cooperation a lot and (reminder that Christmas isn't that far away and I'm sure your parents will remember how very good and helpful you were). You sound like a great kid. The best way to help somebody is to let them rest when they need it-keep the stereo low or use your headphones, do not cause stress-no bugging him or your Mom- and if you Ask he will tell you what he'd like or needs from you and same with your Mom. Bet he's already pleased that you are concerned and willing to care for him. Bless You and your family.

just love him and care for him. I am sure there will be some notice no matter how good they do it, but that really don't matter, people work well with out all of thier fingers or use of them. What matters is that he is ok.

I'm really sorry about your dad, but justtry to remember that he's okay, and it wasn't a fatal injury. It'll be okay.
