To potty train him there are several methods, try the following.
When the puppy has an accident in the house put his nose rite up to it....this is so that he knows what he is being scolded for and also that it is his....then scold him. At first you can yell or get a mean voice but you may have to step it up to spankings.
Immediently after you have scolded him, take him outside where he can go potty...this teaches him where to go.
Make sure you clean up the "accident" thoroughly. Use bleach or if you are cleaning carpet and fabrics....use nature's miracle. If the puppy can smell the urine or feces odors from previous accidents, he will be more likely to do it again.
Make sure that you take the puppy outside to go potty at least four to five times a day. Turn him out in a fenced yard if you can.
If you havn't already, have him nuetered. If you leave him intact, he will soon start to feel his hormones and start marking his territory.
Good luck

Sure fire way of house training.
This new puppy's bladder is still forming. It needs to be taken out every 15 to 20 minutes. Start your morning letting it out . When it goes give lots of praise. Then take it in to eat. Give it only half an hr to finish it's meal. 5 to 10 minutes after it finishes eating drinking or playing let it out.. If you have to leave, the best place for it to stay is a dog crate. Before putting it in, take it out. Place dog, small dish of water, safe toy [no rawhide because it can choke or get a twisted gut if it swallows too much] and a towel or blanket. As soon as you get home let it out. If late enough in the day feed it again and 5 to 10 minutes later take it out. Before going to bed let it out. And remember to praise it every time it goes outside. Don't use training pads or news paper. This gives dog permission to go in the house. If it goes in the house and you didn't see it then don't punish it. Just be more watchful, and clean the area really good.. If you see it. Catch it in the act of doing it, right away say no and take it right out. Even if no more comes out, praise dog for being outside. Eventually it will associate going out gets me praise, and maybe a treat. But don't always reward with food.Stick with this and in about 2 weeks your dog will be asking you to go out. good luck.

Be consistant. Get a kennel/ crate and crate train this seems to work the best. But when you are playing with your puppy and can watch him take him out 15 minutes after he eats and don't rush the puppy it takes time. When you bring your puppy in put him in the kennel and take him out every few hours and don't yell at your dog for potting in the kennel take the mess out side and the dog. puppies will sniff around when they have to go just watch him

When he does his bussiness inside try "showing" it to him/her. DON"T RUB NOSE IN IT!!! Just show them and then put them outside right away. My Rott had the same problem and this worked. Good Luck.
