Does anyone know of a way to look up birth, marrige and death records from China.?

I am trying to do my husband's genealogy. He was born in trinadad but his parents are from china. We don't even know what providence they are from. I don't know where to start. I have been searching the internet for some kind of help and I keep running into deadends.
