I have heard so many religious types say that I shouldn't question God's "wisdom" or try to second guess his decisions as to whether I should be a male or a female. They say that "God made you a man and you will always be one".

Well, in my case I was born with extremely underdeveloped parts "down there". And the gonads I have don't make any testosterone- zip. zilch. nada.

I have had blood tests to determine my serum testosterone levels and they were undetectable, (>20) even before I started taking female hormones.

I am a rarity. most MtF transsexuals I know have had to endure the horrifying effects of masculinization under the effects of testosterone.

My question is this- if you had a tumor and it could be removed safely, would doing so contravene God's Will? Would that also be seen as questioning His wisdom or second guessing Him?

Or does a sex change count as a special case, and not acceptable and removing a tumor is acceptable?

Oh, dear. You've only gone and shot a hole in their beliefs! The bible forgot to mention cases such as yours.
The same should be said for hermaphrodites, perhaps(who incidentally, were revered as holy and considered closer to "God" than all others, in the past).

Prepare for many hateful and shallow comments ensuing!

(Great question, btw)

God will forgive you. Almost everyone on the planet is confused in some way or another. I debate the question of Breast augmentation. Not that it is the same but it is altering the way God made you. Ask yourself: Will this help me be a better servant for God. I am sorry that in your life you have had to deal with this decision. I hope that you LISTEN to your own heart and try not to listen to too much judgment out there. Remember God knew from the very beginning that you were going to be faced with this decision. Whatever you choose to do he will love you as he did the second you were conceived.

GOD may or may not make mistakes but nature sure does.
Since we live in an era that can correct any such errors then you are not committing any sin just correcting the error from what ever source. That is why we have been given free will.
its obvious that you were supposed to be born female or maybe fraternal twins but the split didn't occur properly. So if you don't like the extras then it is your right to have the unusable parts removed . some religions say that you should keep these things and have them buried with you as they were a part of you at one time.
What is their view on having a wart or mole removed. Or and extra digit.bet it would be its my body and i can do what i want with it but you have to do as i tell you.

First off, Removing a tumor will save your life.... I met a man with no arms and no legs... born that way. I have seen many people born with certain conditions that arn't common or normal. I know that God has made these people. And I also know that God has a reason for this. I dont know what i would do in that situation, but whatever it is make sure that it isn't a selfish reason, and consult with God first.

My wife knows a Doctor who specializes in surgery for babies who are born without a distinct gender. It happens more freqently than people (especially theists) are aware of or are willing to admit.

You've convinced me that it is perfectly appropriate for you to be female. Go for and it and don't let anyone put you down for your decision. I highly recommend that you move to an urban area with an active LBGT community where you can have a supportive community.

Sex tends to be a special case for most religions. Things that are acceptable for some things become taboo for sex. I don't believe in God myself, but my take on Christianity is that God gave us medicine and technology to make our lives better. He gave us brains and expects us to use them. He wants us to be happy and I don't see why changing yourself would be so bad if it would accomplish that. I know plenty of Christians who shave (removing the hair God put on their bodies), cut their hair (which God made to grow), dye their hair, wear make up, get tattoos, have plastic surgery....all of these things change the bodies God gave us and are acceptable, so I don't see why what you want wouldn't be.

If you feel you should be female and you where undeveloped at birth, and you wish to fix this - then by all means, fix it. Don't let some silly Bible thumper tell you not to or it's a sin. God make's mistakes all the time....just like at Extreme Christian for proof.

It's your lifestyle choice, and if the religious retards try to attack you for it, then just call the ACLU on them.

I'm no doctor but all of your 'parts' are supposed to be there. Tumors aren't. Look up these websites.
