The nearest countries are Iceland, east of Greenland in the Atlantic Ocean, and Canada, to the west and across Baffin Bay. Greenland is the world's largest island, and is the largest dependent territory by area in the world. It also contains the world's largest national park.

Greenland was part of Danmark but 1979 was granted self government,but Denmark still has some control over it

kool question, only cuz my direct ancestor discovered it. Erik the red... he named it greenland so people would go there, even though it was covered in ice. I am his great great great great great great great etc. etc. granddaughter.
anyways to get to your question.... is is a territory of denmark, but self governed, kinda like our PR
