I'm a military gf and we only have 6 more weeks left till he gets home from Iraq. He has been there a year and it has been tough. I have had many sleepless nights and cried alot and he has too.I sent him lots of letters and packages and it has actually made us stronger. It made us really appreciate every single moment we had together when he was home from R&R and I'm sure it will be the same when he gets back. We are getting married Oct 07 and I can't wait to join the ranks of strong military wives. Thanks to all the ladies that keep a family and home together when there man is away!!

I am also a Military wife been doing this job since 2000 and yes it is hard but we are very very strong and there are many web sites that support military wives such as NavyWives.com prior to becoming a Us Marine s wife I was a Navy wife for almost 8 yrs so yes it is a hard job but its enjoyable as well thers good and bad times and thats why us military wives have to try to support eachother especially during long or short deployments and especially the ones who have Husbands deployed to the war zone.

I am a soon to be military wife. But I have been with my navy man sense high school which is soon to be 4 years now. He calls me his wife we just haven't done it yet. And I know enough about the military to be his wife plus I had his son 2 months ago. So I think I qualify. It isn't an easy job. When Moses ( my soon to be husban ) comes home it will be 13 months sense I have seen him and our son ( which he has yet to see ) will be 5 months. It is very sad. I can't wait to see what kind of answers you get back. Thanks for asking this question. I would love any advice anyone has on being a Military Wife. Thank you

Good for you for sticking it through and through. I always say being a soldiers wife is the hardest job in the army! My husband served 8 years in the Marine Corp before he came in to the Army. This is the first time we are stationed away from home We moved from CA to NY last year. Take care and stay strong

I am a Marine Corps wife! We got married on July 4th, of this year. (I know, aren't we so patriotic!?) lol. He is in Iraq at the moment, and will be there until March. =( But yes, this is such a hard job! But we are tough, and us military wives/fiances/girlfriends have to stick together! Take care.

Navy wife here, mum of air force as well..............hun its hard but its a good life if you put alot into it...............enjoy your time in and focus on the good, there is bad but you either roll with it or it drags you under...hubby obviously thought you was the right one for him, now its up to you to prove it, which by the sounds of it you are doing a good job.

Take care and look after the little ones...............

Not anymore. But I was married to an E7. We married when he returned from Iraq. He's a good man, and I wish him happiness. It just didn't work out for us.
