I love to use my crock pot, even for recipes that don't call for it.
Throw in a pound or two of round steak (or stew meat), a can of tomato sauce, sliced onions and green peppers. Let it cook all day on low, or 3-5 hours on high. Goes great over a bed of rice or noodles.
Or try this one: 4 chicken breast, a cup of sour cream, a can of cream of mushroom soup, a stick of melted butter, and a can of sliced mushrooms (or stems and pieces). Let cook all day on low or 3-4 hours on high. You can also cook it at 350 degrees for one hour in your regular oven. Super yummy over regular noodles.
How 'bout easy barbecued pork or beef? Put in a roast of pork or beef, your choice. Any cheap cut will be fine, it will be nice and tender if you slow cook it. Just add a jar of your favorite BBQ sauce and let it cook all day on low (the longer the better). Great on hamburger buns with potato wedges or fries.
Another idea..... Put 4-6 pork chops in crock pot and cover with 1 can evaporated milk and 1 can cream of mushroom soup. Cook all day on low. Serve with rice or noodles or just bread and butter.
NOTE: Cream soups are your crock pot's friend!

I make my own applesauce using an electric crock pot (I assume you are referring to the slow-cooker variety? Mine has just three settings: high, low, and off.)
Recipe: Peel, core and dice up fresh apples into about one-inch chunks. Place these into crock pot, filling it up to near the top. Add about half full with water, or, for extra flavor, mix the water with about 50% apple juice. Add sugar if you must (**optional - I personally don't like to add sugar, as the apples are sweet enough without it, thankyou!), cinnamon, maybe a couple of cinnamon sticks, and a dash of salt (salt helps bring out the flavor), and slow cook overnight on the low heat setting (about 6 to 8 hours). Let cool off, mix well with a spoon, and you will have really really really good applesauce. Wonderful stuff! Stores in the refrigerator for days and days, too.
Good night, and good luck. Col. Kurtz

I have a soup that I use a crock pot to make fairly often. By its very nature, it is difficult to make wrong too!
Leftover meat (any kind but fish), diced
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomatoes
1 package instant garlic mashed potatoes
1 onion, diced
vegetables- Garden variety is best
celery, green pepper, extra carrot, and mushrooms if you like
more garlic, pepper, sage, 1 bay leaf, basil, oregano, and rosemary- or you can mix and match the spices
Water to about an inch below the top
Put everything into your crockpot and stir, then let simmer on low during the day. By evening, your dinner will be ready.

The "Fix It and Forget It" cook book is full of recipes for drinks, cakes, sidedishes etc. They have a "light" cookbook too.
Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Pudding
15oz can solid pack pumpkin
12oz can evaporated milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk baking mix
2 eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp. vanilla
whipped cream
Mix together all ingredients except the whipped cream. Pour into greased slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or until thermometer reads 160 degrees. Serve topped with whipped cream.

Chocolate fondue!!!!!!
Ha....my friends and i melted 800g of chocolate with some cream in the mircowave and dumped it all into the crockpot!!
For dippers: mushmellows, mandarins, wafers, promegernates, apples, puff pastries....
oh....but there were too much leftover...even though there was 7 of us....i reckon 50g of chocolate per person would be sufficient next time...
Chocolate Fondue
Toblerone, the world's best-known chocolate bar - with its honey and almond nougat - also makes the world's best chocolate fondue. Here's an easy-make recipe, courtesy of Toblerone:
Ingredients:
• 1 bar (400 g) Toblerone Swiss Milk Chocolate
• 1/2 cup whipping cream
• 3 tbsp. liqueur (optional)
Directions:
Method:
Break chocolate bar into separate pieces. Melt with cream in top of a double boiler over simmering water, or in microwave on Medium power for about 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Add liqueur, stirring until well blended. If a thinner consistency is desired, add more cream, one tablespoon at a time.
To Serve:
Transfer melted chocolate to fondue dish or to a small electric crockpot. Keep warm over low heat. Use fondue forks or bamboo skewers to dip bite-size pieces of fruit into melted chocolate.
Fondue Dipping Ideas: Try fresh cherries, strawberries, melon wedges, peach slices, banana chunks, apples, and marshmallows. The possibilities are endless.

oh oh!!! And of course herbal soups!! Hmmm....there r alot of different varieties....i m not sure where u stay n what's ur taste like...but if Chinatown is nearby..u can ask around for a pre-mix...there r all sorts...for every ailment u can think off!! Hee...there r soups for nourishing the kidneys, lungs, increasing ur energy etc...just remember to ask the store assistant for one that is mild tasting....i usually use the pre-mix, put some chicken bones and the required amount of water n have the soup as a tonic once or twice a month. :)
Have fun with ur crockpot!!
