I know that it's kinda superficial to dye my hair a different color, but I hate just having regular old black hair, it's just so generic and boring, I'm pretty tan, and I've got boring old brown eyes. And I'm asian, Vietnamese to be exact. So what color do you reccomend?

If you're going for natural, go for red. Black hair can usually "translate" well to red with respect to skin tone.

I can tell you from experience that you will have to get your hair dyed professionally if you want it to show up. I naturally have nearly-black hair, and have had dyed black, and it is hard to get anything from a box to show up!

I definitely think highlights or low lights in your hair would be best. Either a fiery red color, looks awesome on asian black hair. Or a rich dark violet color that really looks cool in the sunlight. You can do it in big chunks or subtle pieces or just two pieces in the front framing your face. I wish I could have those colors in my hair, but I am a blonde and fair-skinned I could never get away with it. You're lucky!

Girl.. I know how you feel! I'm asian as well and tell me about black hair!!!! I hate it too............. I used to have my hair in purple highlights. I know you're probably thinking, "Purple"....... But remember our hair is black and when the results come out it's tinted purple-black. Not many highlights of purple and not chunky. Tiny strans. I loved it when mine was done. If you go for the blonde highlights, they're good too, but also remember that our hair is so black that when they're trying to lift to a blonde the most highest it could lift to is an orange-dried out red... And sometimes it's ugly. Also, red is good.... But remember red fades fast and easily... The tips I'm giving you are all from my past experieces... Good luck and enjoy.... Hair is always fun but becarful not to ruin it.

I saw this Asian girl on the subway with cinnamon colour hair, I loved it, so I asked her how she got that colour, she said it was a mixture of brown and red hair colour. It looked really great, different not your typical red or brown dyes. She didn't tell me the name brand :(

Have fun with your hair..you only live once!

You have the perfect hair color & skin tone to try them awesome dramatic colors that have a "punch" to them. I would get rich red highlights, like a redish-burgundy color. If you're not daring enough to go to red for your first time coloring your hair, to be safe, go for a rich carmel-colored brown. It will look nice with your brown eyes.

lol. i'm vietnamese and have "boring" black hair too but i love it because it's my natural hair colour. a reddish brown would really give your hair colour some spice! more red than brown.
