Defending yourself means that you use the amount of force that is equal or slightly greater than that being used against you for the sole purpose of escape. If you escalate the violence, you may be looking at criminal charges.

I believe in appropriate force. If I'm in a situation where minimum force will take care of the issue, then I will use minimum force. If I feel that my safety will be threatened after the fact, for instance, the individual says he's getting friends and coming to my home, then extreme force is something I would consider.. is it appropriate, maybe... will the police see it my way... probably not

There are four levels of conflict:
1. verbal
2. pusing and shoving
3. hitting or punching
4 use of weapons

You can use whatever means you have to defend yourself and not be in trouble as long as YOU are not the one to escalate to the next level.

If your life is in eminent danger then there is no limt to the amount of force is used to defend yourself.

yes it is ok,,but only if you have a judge in your pocket to the law a criminal can kill your family but if you hurt him you go to jail and he can sue you for assualt and possibly go to jail unless the murderer dies,, in which case they jail you for not letting them have the kill for themselves
