I'd say make a pin the tail on the hamster game. Just get a big piece of paper bord stuff and draw it out. Hamster thats a hard one, your son has got to be one real fun kid! Take the kids to a place with tubes and tunnels like a hampster cage has that could be fun. but expensive. You could get the decorations in the colors of his hampster. Make bird feeders with the hampster food if they eat the seedy kind. Do a cake with a big hampster on it. Then do regular old party games.

That's such a cute idea for a party theme!
The first thing I thought of when I read this question was "The Hamsterdance Song." It's a cute little song, and easy to find on Amazon.com or eBay. You could possibly play it as background music during the party, or even make a game of it (musical chairs, etc). Look for the single, as it probably has the best version of the song (sorry for the long link).
I also found a website that has ideas for an animal-themed party, but might also apply to you. It's worth a read, and you may find some decent ideas there.

Have you ever herd of Hamtaro? Its a cartoon about hamsters...i think it might be a little to girly for a boy but im not sure....I will give you the website
