I'm 13 and my 7 year old little brother won't leave me alone. he keeps hitting me, singing, standing on his head on the couch next to me, sitting on my arm, stealing my headset, talking, TALKING, and trying to take my shoes off. All because my parents told him he couldn't use the Internet anymore because he keeps downloading games and slowing us all down. Which is NOT my fault, as I have not complained or said anything, yet he keeps telling me he won't leave me alone until he gets it back, which I CANNOT control. His bedtime is in one hour. How can I stand another hour of this? I keep telling my parents he won't leave me alone, but they're ignoring me! (please give good quality answers, as I was typing this while he was trying to turn my laptop off and dig his fingernails into my leg.)

i know how little brothers are but your parents sound like they are not changing their minds any time soon. you need to find something you can compromise on and do together. there has to be something. the more you push him away the worse he will act.

It sounds like you have a rotten kid for a little brother. It also sounds like he needs discipline. This is your Mom and Dad's responsibility. It is also their responsibility to protect you from him. The human bite is one of the most germ rich in the world. Much worse that a dog or cat!.Write your Mom and Dad a letter telling them how unhappy your little brother makes you feel. Make a copy for each and put them someplace where they will find them separately. In Dad's car before he leaves for work for instance. This way they will read it and have to ponder it each to themselves. If your little brother is always out of control then your parents need to get him help. There are medications that he can be given to slow him down. It must be hard on your parents too. You can also include a copy of this note if you like. Maybe they will listen to an adult of 54 years, even if they will not listen to their own daughter. Good luck young lady.

Try to think about how you were treated when you were 7. It sounds like he wants some attention from you. Maybe play a game with him or give him a hug or watch his favorite movie with him, or get him a snack, or wait until he goes to bed before getting on the computer. In other words, be nice to him. When you were 7, I doubt that the person you idolized spent the day on the computer while you bugged the living crap out of them. Try to put yourself in his shoes & be nice to him. I bet once you figure out what his real needs are (a hug, a game, some attention, a snack, etc.), he'll start to be nice in return.
Good luck.

Get off the internet and go hide in the bathroom until his bedtime. It's better to hide away then to do something you'll regret later like hitting him or yelling at him...that could get you into trouble then. Good luck! I have a little brother who can be just as big a pain sometimes...

I would try again to make your parents aware of his behavior.
Besides this, it sounds like your pesty brother wants some attention. How about logging off and playing a game with him or reading to him.

Best wishes!

This child needs to be disaplined big time .
You need to talk to your Mom when you can get her full attention and expiain to her at that time just how bad he is acting towards you when they are not around .
She should be more receptive at that time .
GOOD LUCK SWEETIE !!!
Growing up I had 5 little brothers , can you imagine ?

i personally think the parents are the problem, not the brother.
what kind of parents allow this behavior?
IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY DON'T CARE AS LONG AS THEY DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIM.
WISH YOU COULD SHOW THIS TO THEM. YOUR PARENTS NEED SOME SERIOUS PARENTING CLASSES.
I SUGGEST YOU GO SIT WHEREVER YOUR PARENTS ARE IN THE HOUSE, MAYBE IF YOU ARE NEAR THEM HE WON'T BEHAVE AS BADLY.
POOR GIRL. SORRY YOU HAVE THESE PARENTS.

Treatened him by using a favourite toy or something or promise to give him something he really likes. use his weaknesses :)

but i like the treatening thing better, sounds more fun for someone that's continually hasseling you and getting pleasure doing it. now you have fun, make the tables turn ;)
