Kenmore is Sears' store brand name. Most of the sears (Kenmore) appliances are made by Whirlpool. Sears is the largest retailer of appliances in the world and they want to sell the full line of appliances. If Whirlpool does not make something that another manufacturer does to fit into a certain category Sears will buy from that manufacturer and have them put the Kenmore name on it.

Kenmore is the SEARS store brand, BUT
manufactured by various leading name manufacturers.
often the store salesperson can tell you who (GE, LP, Whirlpool, etc) actually made the particular item under contract with Sears.
Also, I'd recommend checking Consumer Reports (at the library) for their ratings and advise because kenmore often is rated by them very highly, sometimes not.

yes, Sears only. I agree with CYN. Recently purchased a Kenmore dishwasher, I was not happy with the way Sears did not honor my request for p.m. delivery (had to take off from work - said it was out of their control). The warranty is not that great, and I am not happy with the dishwasher itself. I liked my old one better.

Kenmore is Sears home brand. You can only buy it at Sears...
And Paprika, Maytag just declared bankruptcy... so you wouldn't want to go with them...

Kenmore is made by General Electric. So GE appliances are the same. However, Kenmore/GE are not very good appliances. You will get much better quality by buying Whirlpool, or Maytag or another brand.

I wouldnt buy anything from sears, their repair service is very awful.
