I know Aleve is same as naproxen, and want to use it until I can get my prescription refilled. Have to go in to doctor. The use is for arthritis pain in knee. My current prescription is generic naproxen 500 mg 3 times a day.

Patients who are taking over-the-counter naproxen products (Aleve) should follow the instructions on the label. Do not exceed the recommended over-the-counter doses for Aleve (220 milligrams twice daily) and do not take Aleve for longer than ten days unless a physician directs otherwise.

However, call a local drug store to find out :D Pharmacist should be able to help you.

Aleeve is 220 mg per pill or caplet. 2 would be 440 mg per dose. 3 times a day would be1320 per day. I hope that you are taking it with plenty of food and water. Be careful of your stomach and keep an eye on your stools.
