I wonder how many christians who thumb down one of my questions has just bestowed upon me a badge of honour?

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for their's is the kingdom of heaven"
Matthew 5:10

I wonder how many christians who provide the same nonsensical answer think about the image of Christianity they present to the world? Do they think they are impressing anyone?

Does god strike them down?

Do other, true christians, speak out against them?

If you let them represent the religion by remaining silent, why blame me for accepting their claims? Who am I to judge? I'm just a poor, stupid ant waiting for god to throw me into the bonfire.

They (we) are chained by fear. I am breaking free but still feel the difficulty of it. It is just so much easier to dismiss you than to do the excruciating work of self knowledge and admitting to having been misled. It's felt as very very threatening, what you are trying to do, bobkgin.

Are there any other courageous people out here in Y!A land? If you are here, there is guidance and support for you. I'm not the one as I am barely able to see with my new eyes and still have strong memories of my former life that was so comfortable (for ME).

If you are to make the journey, you will have to be inspired by something or someone outside of yourself, I think. I think you will have to genuinely love someone who cannot believe, even after careful study and searching. You will have to see their beauty, their humanity. Can you dare to love as Jesus demands? If you do, that Love will lead you to a nearer truth and a completely free one.

I wager you are doing something that I have tried to move away from: treating Christians as a monolithic whole. The church and Christianity is, in reality, a mosaic of varying colors, and some components emphasize sin/justice while others emphasize forgiveness/love. It's probably best to let them each have their say, because trying to corral them into one point of view is like herding cats.

Christians are the only ones who pray for departed souls. Souls are not damned to hell until last judgement and since we do not know what God has judged then we pray for all departed souls. Except ants they don`t have souls.

i do no longer precisely understand the question, yet i will assert this on behalf of the Christian: Holier than who/what? A Christian is in simple terms as holy as they dedicate themselves to be, that's an ongoing and lifetime undertaking (as we strengthen from grace to grace and glory to glory). One's holiness can in user-friendly terms be decide with the aid of THE decide, who's God. for this reason, the only element we (as persons) can do is attempt for holiness and proceed to ask God to lead us and handbook us into that that's suitable to HIM (to no longer guy). No guy can come to a call this, decide this or maybe criticize this because of the fact they have their own salvation to artwork out and their own training to seek for from the Holiest of Holy's. with the aid of ways: there is not any longer something holy approximately insulting every physique/something; there are no longer any souls in hell (yet); actual men and girls of God have hearts full of compassion--enormously for the lost. it extremely is our existence artwork in ministry. God bless!

Is it fair to judge God by the perverted, unchristian views of some who would call themselves by that name?
