If excorsism isnt part of true christianity, then why do catholic preists and excorsists use it?

It is not quite that simple. When one implies the use of magic, it is usually thought of as black magic or sorcery. An exorcism is considered more a holy miracle of God. The casting out of demons was a gift that God handed to his apostles when he passed and it is still believed that some certain preists can carry this out.

a.) Is 'magik' (to keep it apart from magic tricks) real in the first place? Not as far as I can tell.
b.) When was the last time you saw a priest do an exorcism?
c.) Exorcisms are not magik in any way. They call upon God to clear out the demon. The attendant ritual is not the part doing the work.
d.) Magik is sinful because of the source of its power, if you believe in the stuff. The source is either satanic, or 'the force of nature'. There is almost always a god of some sort behind the natural forces- Gaia, Hepcate, etc.
e.) One COULD claim that miracles were magik, but the rebuttal of that would be that again, we are calling upon the power of God, not the power of some pagan god.
In a real sense, the practice of magik is a religious practice with a pagan or other god being worshipped. The Judeo-Christian God is a jealous god and does not 'share' with any other lesser or 'false' gods.

Prayer is an active effort to communicate with a deity or spirit, including a monotheist God, Saints, gods within a pantheon, or others; either to offer praise, to make a request, confess sins, or simply to express one's thoughts and emotions. The words of the prayer may either be a set hymn or incantation, or a spontaneous utterance in the devotee's own words.
Magic/magick and sorcery are the influencing of events, objects, people and physical phenomena by mystical or paranormal means. The terms can also refer to the practices employed by a person to wield this influence, and to beliefs that explain various events and phenomena in such terms.
They really don't seem that different do they?

No, not a sin. Part of life. As for exorcism, yes, that's a form of magic too. It's a changing something in the universe at large by means of will and ritual -- some call it prayer.

I would also consider miracles a form of magic. It all depends on whose definition you use. Christians consider using magic a sin, even if the result is good, but somehow miracles are okay because they are done by God. I have never understood how they tell the difference.

magick (spelled with a K to define the pagan and wiccan religious beliefs from everyday slight of hand card tricks)
May be a sin in the christian religion.
Christian exorcisim as actually the priest asking god to drive the demosn out.
Pagan exorcisim (what i call Spiritual Cleansing) is the priest asserting his will and focusing the energies of himself and the raw power of nature combined with the power of any gods that he choosed to worship. to FORCE the negatove entity away, and to then shield the person or house against that entity.

Well it's a sin for it's part of spiritulism, like astrology, numerology all these things have pagan roots and the bible teaches to stay clear of such things, and exorcism is not a part of true christianity.

Magick is part of nature. It is neither good nor evil. It is the user that makes it evil. Using it to much can make a dependence. I do not believe it is a sin.

I believe that using magic is a sin.
Exorcism is like taking out the trash. There's nothing magic about taking out the garbage. Do it wrong and it will spill onto you.
