No. I don't like salads. I want the meat and potatoes, right now.

Have you ever heard of the comedian John Pinnette? He has this great theory on salads. He says that a salad is not a meal, it's just a promise that a meal is coming.

I completely agree with him. I eat pre-dinner salads at restaurants, but not at home. The salads at home are always part of the meal.

I sure do, but it seems that I only have it when I go out to dinner. Why is that? Why shouldn't I give myself a small dinner salad at home? Too lazy, I guess. (A spinach salad wouldn't be a good idea right now ...)

yeah, it also helps curb my appetite so i won't indulge when the main meal comes. btw, in some foreign countries they save the salads for after dinner. are they messed up or what?

if you're dieting, it's good to have a pre-dinner salad -- helps to make you feel 'full' faster -- so you're not stuffing yourself on the main meal
