My brother was shot last year around this time by a young man who he had an altercation with. My brother endured several surgeries and has scars from his chest to his abdomen. He now walks around with a trache in his throat. Unfortunately when trial time came around my brother did not have the money to pursue a good lawyer and this young man did and as a result he didn't serve a day. He was shot once in the stomach and twice in the back with a 45mm a very powerful gun. The guy got off on self defense but my brother is so kind that he forgives why can't I.

It could be your brother knows something that makes it easier to forgive. It could also be that he is busy getting on with his life and doesn't want to waste his energy on something he can't do anything about. You can't do anything about it either, so don't waste your energy on anger. If you are thinking of doing something against the guy who shot your brother, I wouldn't advise it. Just stay completely away from the guy who shot your brother. Take care of yourself.

I don't know where you live, but here if someone is shot the state takes over the case and prosecutes it without cost to the victim. I don't understand why your brother needed a lawyer if he was the victim. Perhaps he is able to forgive because there is more to the story than you know and you should probably be asking him this question.
