how about mathematicians? Try Jon Von Neumann, Leonhard Oiler.

Scientists? Torricelli Evangelista creator of the barometer, i think; or Nikolai Tesla, Russian Scientist work specifically on electricity, more on its application, sometimes you can say that he is a man who works with the more famous Thomas Alba Edison. Research so you can conclude by yourself if who is more intelligent in the field of electricity.

Elijah wood ( I think) The scientist that invented a practical telephone but was 4 hours after Thomas Edison getting to the U.S. Patent office.

How about.... Daniel Bernoulli... his most famous work is Bernoulli's principle.

You could also try Osborne Reynolds, who's most famous work is the Reynolds' Number.

And lastly... Van Braun is a famed WWII rocket scientist.

How about madam curie. or marie curie. She did a lot of research on radiation and ended up dying because of it.
