Candles are always good. Bath stuff is good. Humm tickets to a ballgame if interested in sports, or to a concert. A family scrap book if she is a family person. Different cooking mixes they sell in pretty jars, like cookies ,soup. A basket with a little bit of everything thats what i do for my mom. I throw in some of her favs. like candy, anything stl cardinals, bath stuff in a neutral smell, candles, puzzle books. Go for what she likes then do a little bit of eveything.

A few generic ideas are:
Nike ID (can customize their own athletic shoes)
Tiffany pendant and chain
A betta fish for their desk

Since I'm just past that age group--I'd say-either some great wine or candy or something gourmet---that you know the person likes to eat!!
