I agree, to a point. You could have been a little nicer in the way the queston was phrased. The religious oneson here look for anything to jump on the non-religious. Questions like this just make all ateists look like total morons who are out to pick a fight.

I challenge you to read a book called the case for Christianity by C.S. Lewis. His logical and intellectual arguement proves that it is both illogical and unintelligent not to believe in God. Christians don`t believe because they are afraid there is nothing after death, but because they fear that there is something after death and we will have to answer for our lives. What i want to know is why non believers bother following laws which have their root in christian law(10 commandments) since it doesn`t matter what they do in life.

this is unhappy that anybody might want to be even remotely stumped by employing this question easily. ad hominems are pathetic? i do not recognize that i might want to really use that word, i have considered some large ad homs from wonderful intellectuals and this is consistently further after honing in on a element, this is totally exciting yet i will see the way it would want to bore one the following.

ust make sure your certain of your beliefs b/c you will pass away someday and we wouldn't want any unpleasant surprises now would we? But you go ahead and take that chance, sounds like a very intellectual decision. not!
Look into yourself for some soul searching as u don't sound so content or fulfilled. Good luck.

It does sound quite pathetic.
Someone who believes in the "myth" of Jesus... is not a Christian.
A true Christian believes in the message of Jesus.

No. You have to understand most of them were never given a chance to use logic and the idea of a god is rooted deep into their psyche by their parents or other figures who had the same done to them from an early age. It's not pathetic, it's more just sad.

Fear is the beginning of knowledge, If someone fears God they will seek till they find, and he will show them the way, he will plant his love in their hearts, But who are you that judge another, know ye not ,that you that judge are guilty of the same? you were a sinner, and he loved you then, why do you judge, God is the Judge, I have children that I love, do you think that I would let my child go to hell, if they wanted to be with me in heaven, God loves us more then we can love our ownself, He Is able to do all things.we are his children, not yours .

you're right~ Christians who do not believe becuase of their love of God and Christ.... what a sad state. I pray that they truly come to love God with all their hearts becuase God knows what is in their hearts and to say you love Him only to avoid hell and not live according to His Will (committing yourself to Him) is very scary for He knows the true depth of a person's heart.
my prayers are with those - those who are lukewarm.
