Monkeys have tails, whereas apes (such as chimpanzees, gorillas and humans) do not.

As there seems to be a lot of confusion around here about monkeys and apes, I just thought I'd clear that up...

Being an ape myself I really think it would be neat to have a prehensile tail. Those monkeys have it made swinging around. It would almost be like another hand. I wish tails hadn't been a characteristic to disappear. Thumbs on our feet would be neat to have kept as well - just wasn't conducive to upright walking.
