I always go with whoever asks should pay. If a guy asks a girl out for dinner or drinks..then he should pay. if they just agree to go out together then split it. If called up a guy and wanted to get coffee or something I would feel that I should pay, unless he wants to buy his own.

yes girls expect a man to pay for the dinner, even if a girl did invite him. Coz its just not right to let a girl pay for the dinner. Or do a spilt paying thing.
be a gentleman
hey im 15 and i know what to do and not to do. So you should know by now.

I think perhaps he should pay for the first few dates, but if I ordered drinks I'd offer to at least pay for that. After you've been out a few times, I think it's perfectly acceptable for you to either trade off who pays or split the bill. The man shouldn't always have to pay.

I expect my man to pay all the time. I do sometimes pay for myself. I think all men should be gentlemen and pay, what's the big deal?...It shows how interested you are in the girl. I do though somtimes pay though just b/c I want to. But my man is always more than willing to pay without even thinking of it he just takes his wallet out. It's not that expensive, besides, he is just happy to have me and that I am a loving, great g/f. Which nowadays is priceless! I love him :)

If he asks me to dinner then yes I EXPECT him to pay but I am an independent woman and in the event that he doesn't pay I CAN PAY FOR MY OWN DINNER. It also goes the other way. If I ask him to dinner, I am prepared to pay for his dinner with no problem.

yeah 100%. why ask for a date if you can't afford even drinks? but is the guy can't really afford i just pay for my share and would never want to have anything to do with the guy. i don't want to appear well-off than the guy. i don't want to embarrass the guy more by hanging out with me and stomach the fact that he can only afford his share of dinner and drinks.

Depends who asked who out? If you payd for dinner and go for drinks or something after it doesnt hurt the girl to contribute to the date buy paying for something on the date.

Initially....
If he asked me out....I expect him to pay (but will be prepared to pay my share if nec.)
If we both decided to get together casually...we go half and half
If he has paid for the last few I will suprise him and pay for the entire date from time to time
If we are in a relationship; or headed in that direction we will alternate
