GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

actually trimming your hair has absolutely no effect on it's growth. it's smart to do to keep your hair healthy but unless your hair is so bad to the point which it is split from tip to root, trimming won't make it grow faster. i know this doesn't answer the question but what others said, vitamins, oils, tlc, etc all work great. only some people are lucky enough to hair naturally fast-growing hair!! good luck and hopefully your hair is long soon :)

Th best way--- keep trimming it every 4-6 weeks to maintain healthiness. There are chemical products that can stimulate it to grow but none are proven effective and can cause damage. Do keep in mind that everyone has a point in which their hair stops growing. Some people can grow 30 inches, some can only grow 21.

sounds crazy but trim it on a regular basis. i had a girlfriend who told me to trim my hair during the quarter before the full moon(about three days before). thought she was nuts but i tried it. worked like you can't believe. she said the moon made it grow like it pulls the tides. don't understand it, but if i trim after the full moon it grows slower. so i trim my bangs after.

i think the main thing is you are keeping the split ends cut off, split hair just breaks off.
