I just rented a condo and the owner said that I can fix it up any way I wanted to. The previous owners put in this hideous wall paper in my dining room and I want it down!! What's the best way to remove wall paper?

There is more than one way to skin a cat and there is more than one way to remove wallpaper.

1. You can rent a steam machine and steam it off. You might not like this idea (as I don't) since it will cause humidity in your house. It will also cost you to rent the machine.

2. You can sponge it down with warm water and then slowly peel it off. Then you wash the wall to get the excess glue off. This option is a bit of a pain in the but, because you need to make certain that your water is ALWAYS quite warm... how far from the sink are you....

3. This is the way I prefer to remove wallpaper. It's inexpensive and works REALLY well. Buy the tool to perforate wallpaper at any hardware or DIY store. It's almost like a pizza cutter, but it has little spikes going all around it. Run this up and down and across your wallpaper. Once this is done, using a gallon of windshield washer fluid and a sponge, wash down the wall like you would if you were using water. Then quite easily pull off the wallpaper. Rinse the wall down with warm water to remove any residual glue. You won't believe the results! It'll take off the most stubborn old wallpaper. Enjoy.

the best way to remove the wall paper is peel as much off as u possible can if its easy to tear off then use a wall paper steamer its takes a little bit to heat up but you only have to put it on the wall for a few seconds before you tear or scrap off the paper so just be patient for the heating up process

Take a utility knife and score it, then fill a spray bottle with water and fabric softener. Soak the paper, it should start to peel away after about 20 min.
