Well ya see there was this little ship called the Mayflower,who brought over pilgrims who felt they couldn't practice their religion freely in europe. The founding fathers were all ' Christians' but yet made sure that in the constitution there was separation of church and state, so that the little problem of one religion being forced on people wouldn't happen again. Or at least not until the Christian Conservatives got political.

Why not, our country was based upon Christianity when our Government was formed. "In God we Trust", and others. Why do we celebrate Christmas, because that was when Christ was born 2,000 yrs ago. Also, why do we celebrate Easter, because that was when Christ died on the cross for the sins of man, and that they can be forgiven - also that he rose from the dead. The Friday before Easter, is when Jesus died, and Sunday, (Easter Sunday) is when Jesus arose from the dead. Thank you for asking this question, as I think many people forget why there are so many Christians in America. Just ask them, and they will tell you.

America's forefathers built this Great Country on Faith and Believing in the the Almighty God. In God we Trust ! Our early pioneers were Christians. This United States of America's foundation is strong with the Faith that has been built upon this sturdy soil. So anyone who is not happy here, can leave it.
