Something with an airbag and anti-lock brakes, if you're gonna do more than PL-PD (ie, Collision).
We've had reasonable luck w/ GM A-bodies (ie, Pontiac 6000, Buick Century, etc). Not enough power to really be a "fast" car but they tend to run reliably for a long time. And, you can get a good one for about $1000, and it gets around 30 mph. It's a dorky car, but it holds 4 people comfortably and safely. The parts are cheap, and every mechanic knows how to work on it.

Older model Honda Accords & Civics, Toyota Camrys & Corollas, Nissan Altimas & Maximas, Ford Taurus are all cars that are good on insurance. Your best bet is to get something you don't have to finance, so you can carry liability only.
My first car was a 1990 Honda Accord. It ran perfectly, no mechanical problems, was a peppy little car, and it had low insurance rates (and I had full coverage). I loved it and I paid for it with money earned from a part-time job.

Something comfortable to drive and not over the top. My first car was a Plymouth Caravelle, far from a cool car, and everyone made fun of me for it, but it drove nice, and I could see all 4 corners. The insurance isn't bad because its a mid-size/small car, and because its not a sports car. look for something small like a neon, or escort, just don't buy anything made to go fast, and nothing flashy.

Forget ALL the "sports & sporty" cars. Go for a low powered simple car such as a Toyota Corrola, VW beetle or a Honda Civic or some other LOW powered simple vehicle. The insurance is going to hurt you either way you go. I hope you are being added to your mom and dad's insurance!!! And last, but not leasts, check with the insurance company you are going to use and ask them which cars are cheaper when it comes to insurance. Pops

How much do you want to spend? Insurance wise stay away from sport cars..or higher end luxury cars. Talk her into a 4 dr. in most cases it is cheaper to get insurance for. As far as best..depends on what cash you have.

My %. may well be an older type Toyota Corolla or Camry (years 1990-1997). yet my determination may well be the Corolla. i like those autos because of the fact of reliability and fee. additionally the two autos are equipped to final an prolonged time. As you strengthen older and can have adequate money a clean, greater fancier automobile, the Camry and Corolla will nevertheless be going reliable. while paying for, constantly keep around throughly. on no account be in a hurry to get your first automobile. you want to no longer in user-friendly terms examine for value--how low fee you will get one yet you want protection and reliability. in terms of ways lots you and your loved ones ought to spend, i think of with you being in simple terms sixteen years old, your loved ones shouldn't spend lots money. i think of that as much as $5,000 for a motor vehicle is stable. Please inspect the Kelly Blue e book and web pages like Yahoo, MSN or Google autos and do a sprint analysis on the final values on Corrollas, Camrys, Honda Civics. on the subject of older or greater contemporary autos, enormously, i detect that many older autos run in simple terms as stable because of the fact the greater contemporary fashions. contained on the topic of Toyota, the older autos back interior the day did no longer have a gasoline pedal concern like the recent Prius. additionally older autos have been made with very stable craftmanship as antagonistic to those days, you're listening to a pair of lot of motor vehicle recollects. In regard on your mom suggesting the Ford concentration, I extremely have not heard any lawsuits approximately that motor vehicle, yet your loved ones ought to think again getting you a greater contemporary, greater high priced automobile the 1st day out. in my view, while my son and daughter turns sixteen, i don't experience it would be sensible for me to purchase them a clean high priced automobile good off of the bat. and that i hate to assert this yet what if the motor vehicle gets into an twist of destiny or maybe a finder binder, you will experience very undesirable that the recent automobile have been given broken. You and your loved ones will ought to spend money, no longer in user-friendly terms in restore yet with an vehicle physique keep as a manner to make the recent automobile seem the comparable because it grew to become into. rejoice with your seek.
