I don't feel guilty about it. As long as you can provide that child with a home, food, clothes, and other basic necessities, what is there to feel bad about? The world is what it is and one more child isn't going to change it. One thing women can stop doing is having babies they aren't prepared to care for and then that child becomes a fiscal issue for the state to raise.

If you don't think you could ever have children because you would feel so guilty with the world already being overpopulated, then don't have children.
Bearing a child is no picnic, neither is raising one; but don't use the world's population as an excuse not to have one.

As long as I can take care of my children then, no I do not feel guilty for contributing to the population. What does make me feel somewhat selfish is bringing a child into this world to deal with crime, war, and other issues we face today.

That sounds like something I would say--about dogs. I am not saying I would never adopt--but I have a child. Yes, the world is overpopulated. But people having kids isn't like dog breeding. It's a natural thing that people are supposed to do. Not saying I don't see your point, but I guess I just don't understand why someone wouldn't want one of their own flesh and blood.

I personally don't think its selfish but i do see your point of view... I have 3 children and some times wonder if im doing the right thing and i know that God Loves us and some of us were meant to have kids and no matter what God will have a plan and a purpose for your kids ;o) ...... God Bless<><
If you feel that strongly about it than maybe God has put it in your heart to adopt!

I do not think it is selfish to bring a children into the world if you can care for them. It is selfish if you are one of those who are contributing to the very populated foster care system.

No. I do not feel guilty about giving birth to my own children. I want to carry my children. Feel them growing and moving in my womb. There is nothing wrong with this. I do not want to raise someone else's children.

there have always been and always will be people that need that basic needs in life. it's not just "this day and age". i don't feel bad for having children. you can't change how many people there are in the world. as long as i can provide for my family, i will continue to have children.
