You will most likely just need to get either a stereo receiver or a home theater surround sound receiver to power your speakers. How to hook this up? Well, you would connect the TV to the receiver by using a pair of interconnects from your TV's AUDIO OUT (L&R) to your receiver's (R&L) AUDIO IN, and then connect your speakers via speaker cable to your receiver's speaker (L plus and Left minus, R plus and R minus) outputs.

Your TV will have to have either a) amplified output for external speakers or b) line-level audio outputs (red/white jacks). a) is unusual, but b) is more common on higher-cost TVs. If the TV has audio outputs you will need an amplifier or A/V receiver in addition to your speakers. If your TV has no external connections for audio, you may still be able to get audio from your source if that is a DVD player, cable box or satellite receiver. Then you will really need an A/V receiver (not just an amp) to be able to switch between the different sources.

Most tv's do not have powered outlets for external speakers. You will probably need to use a seperate receiver.
