You actually need more than just audio outputs if you want Dolby Digital. So, the answer is no. You will need an external tuner and A/V receiver with digital audio output to get DD from broadcast TV. On the other hand, cable boxes, satellite receivers and DVD players usually have digital audio outputs (coax or optical). You feed this into your A/V receiver which provides the sound, and turn off your TV sound.

Not that I know of. If you have a DVD player or VCR hooked up to it you can use the extra audio output on them instead. That's what I did.System works like a champ ! :-)
