Of course we judge it's human nature to do so, especially when you know something to be true because of the evidence you have seen, then hear someone say the exact opposite of what you know to be true, you would judge that person to be wrong. Or to not have a clear understanding of things.

I find that it helps me to be my own harshest critic and judge, this way I find that I have a greater degree of compassion for others. It may work. But I have read some of your posts and find that you have some stunning insights into what you read here. In particular I enjoyed your answer to the Genesis question. But remember that not all Jews and not all Christians read texts literally, and when you find a progressive community with educated clergy, western religion might just have something of a back-bone. Thank you and Shalom.

This "Judge not lest ye be judged," thing has got to go. There is an important reason why we do judge people, and that is to be able to determine those people we are willing to deal with in life. There is nothing wrong with casting judgment on people who do things that shock our sense of decency. Say a pedophile, or an arsonist. It's not possible to walk away from a person like that and not have cast a judgment on them.

God judges the intent of the heart. We should try to do the same but it's hard when some people seem like they are just doomed to damnation.
We should just pray that they find Jesus and continue to witness.
However, I was reading in Acts today when some people did not want to hear the Gospel Paul shook his garments and said your blood is on your heads.
Love in Jesus' name

It is definitely a good thing to understand why the person feels the way they feel. Not just accept pat answers as to why people feel the way they feel, but really have a grasp of it.
If you really understand the basis behind what the person is saying then you will attack that basis and not the person.

Nah - judge away I say. I've been down the oh-so-soft- and cuddly-lets all be friends and non-judgemental path and its hogwash. We judge others constantly, and that's how life works.
