Oh, it is so sad to see the lack of understanding of the questions you rightly raise!!!

Referring back to the link you post here for instance, let's walk through it and unpack what's happening...

The question on this link is: "So are Christians telling a poor stupid ant that he has more compassion for the souls of the damned than their god?"

Okay first, what does this question mean?

The question is the result of an analysis of previous questions where this non-christian asks questions about compassion and finds his intellegence insulted and his own worth devalued instead of answering to his questions about what sounds to him like a hate filled ideology...one that even he can Love better than, despite the lowly position he has been placed in.

So, you understand the question now?

Okay, now let's look at the responses he got to this question and unpack it too...

1. nathan s.: Get over yourself! (Let's call this a devaluing statement, shall we. He isn't even worth an answer)

2. N9WFF: "Bible says that if man does not praise God, the rocks will. What does that tell you if you're not praising him?"
(Let's call this a not-very- veiled threat).

3. trytopray: (punctuation added for clarity) "If you have so much time to question, take a minute to ask God. Here's how: O mighty Lord, I come into you...in Jesus Christ's name, ask. When done, sasy amen. Then listen quietly. (attempt to convert with no respect for the fact that a question has been asked).

4. jewel_flo: " Not a chance." (not an answer to the question and pretty unkind in tone.)

5. asklman27: "How did you get so shallow? Crack? heroin? bad childhood? waht's your point anyway? (character assasination combined with an inability to comprehend the question)

6. malsvb6: a lengthy answer that amounts to a conversion speech and ignoring the point of the question.

7. Rich: another lengthy comment that I read as rather sarchastic, pretend compassion mixed with name calling.

8. whatabout...:" That is because they use the name of Jesus and never really know him. Do they read the bible and seek him out? (this is a descriptive analysis of the scripture quoted but does nothing to address the question. The question is ignored altogether.)

The question here is this folks: bobkgin is giving example upon example of problems around christian compassion. He asks and asks but the answers don't address his question and lack compassion themselves, thus adding additonal evidence to support his supposition.

So

BY DEFAULT...(no one willing to be compassionate other than himself)...is the one who does not claim christianity for himself, in fact, the ONLY ONE who demonstrates that he understands it when EVERYONE else demonstrates that they (WE) don't?

C'mon people...open up the eyes...put on the ol' thinking cap...

We all need to change...WE are the problem...WE are proof of the chokehold Fear has taken within us. We desparately need to find courage to face this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you bobkgin for persisting dispite our hateful and fearful responses. You show us what compassion is by your continuing to care for us when we do nothing to merit it.

I don't exactly understand the question, but I can say this on behalf of the Christian:

Holier than who/what?

A Christian is only as holy as they devote themselves to be, which is an ongoing and lifelong project (as we grow from grace to grace and glory to glory).

One's holiness can only be judge by THE JUDGE, who is God. Therefore, the only thing we (as individuals) can do is STRIVE for holiness and continue to ask God to lead us and guide us into that which is acceptable to HIM (not to man). No man can decide this, judge this or even criticize this because they have their OWN salvation to work out and their own guidance to seek from the Holiest of Holy's.

By the way: There is nothing holy about insulting anyone/anything; there are no souls in hell (YET); true men and women of God have hearts filled with compassion--especially for the lost. This is our life work in ministry.

God bless!

Sitting in a pew doesn't make a person a Christian, any more than sitting in a garage makes a person a car.

No; that's not the reason why Christians are holy. They are because they have been "set aside for the purpose of God" (which is the definition for "holy").

You need to have some self-confidence. Why are you referring to yourself as an "ant"?

Bob, WTF? What does an ant have to do with religion? And just how does one go about finding out where an ants compassion lies? And I must say I have yet to hear a Christian insult an ant. Help me out here...throw me a bone or something, people!

stop wasting our time with ridiculous questions that make no sense. Some of us are interested in intellectual questions with substance.

HELLO!! NO ONE GETS YOUR QUESTION, I thought with the 3 dots the rest of the question would make sense or that you would edit with a clarification not comment.
