he just might be! my dog likes to go outside and roll in the mud and on dead animals. i think they think it's funny to come up in our faces when they stink! your dog is out to get you! lol
You can get dogie spray that is all natural that smells real nice it is good or them and there is special shampoo as well that you can use ,ask your vet to recommend a shampoo too. but you can get the spray at Pet Co we have it for our chi's and it works. Is it a big dog or small dog because some breeds tend to smell more than others so you can bath them in the shampoo and use the spray called BIO-GROOM I think they have all kind of scents but we use Country Freesia they have shampoo as well ..if that does not work then ask your vet, but you can get the shampoo and spray at Pet Co... good luck hope that helps...

For some reason dogs love to rub in manure and where other dogs have peed. They do rub on dead things sometimes. Unless you chain him up or keep him in the house you probably aren't going to be able to stop him from doing that. Maybe when you bathe him you call use the same stuff they use to get skunk spray off of a dog. I head that you can rub them down with tomato sauce and then bathe them the regular way. But beyond that I don't know. Sorry.

There are shampoos that are especially for smelly dogs. You could also check with your vet, and make sure that it isn't a health problem. .You could also bring her to a professional dog groomer. There is some spray stuff that most pet stores sell that you can spray on your dog every few days to keep them smelling good. It usually lasts for about a week or so. But if your dog is outside a lot, then he's probably laying around in grass or something, which might make him smell bad. Good luck!

They sell waterless bath spray and it smells really good like coconut, I use it on my stinky dog to keep her smelling fresh. It is made by Professional Pet Products and costs about $5, http://www.progroom.com/catalog/product_info.php?name=PPP+Waterless+Shampoo+Spray&products_id=1366&language=en
Several different companies also sell pet cologne, but I found a cheap and effective method my friend uses on her stinky Newfoundland dog... just take plain water in a spray bottle and add vanilla or almond extract (just a bit) and mist it on when you smell your dog.. lol It works pretty good! Hope this helps!
PS if the smell is coming from his ears, take him to the vet because they will keep stinking until you cure the infection(if they are infected) just open his ear and take a whiff, if it smells sour he needs some ear meds, they are fairly cheap and it will make him feel alot better and smell alot better! If you leave the ear infected it could result in an aural hematoma from the dog shaking his head.... trust me it costs alot more to get that fixed than ear meds!!

Give him a bath regularly. A dog that likes to roll in something dead or smelly will do it often. I had a dog like this once. I just learned to live with it. You may have to do the same. Dogs do this to cover their scent. Back when they had to hunt to survive this was a good way for them to sneak up on their prey.

I don't remember the name of the disease, But my brother had a dog that had the same trouble and his veterinarian told him that it was a disease of the liver or kidney or something like that. She ( The Dog ) was given a prescription (kinda expensive) and she lived longer and did not smell however her mortality eventually set in.
Sorry I hope that I am wrong but you should definitely see a vet.

First thing: make sure it is not medical.
Ask your vet what shampoo he/she would recommend to use on him, if you live in a rural area your vet may have a better idea as to which products will work rather than wasting money on those that will not.
