Im not against abortion and thats only cause one I had one in the past and two some women go out of there way using birth control and condoms and still get pregnant so it aint always there fault.
I think throwing your baby in a river is so much worse, how could you live with yourself after that, why didnt she give her baby up for adoption, or to a close friend or family memeber.
Mothers who kill there born living babies should be executed. How in the hell can you do such a thing to a precious little young child that they gave birth to.
Compared to those two stories abortion aint nothing. I'd rather every women get an abortion rather than kill there babies in rivers.
I was watching "Cold Cases" and a couple had a baby girl, and they got so annoying and irritated that they had took there daughter to a desert and burnt her alive.
That just kills me inside thinking about it. Sometimes I wish women/men who kill there little ones, could somehow hand ther children to me, Id rather suffer to take care of a child then them takin a life.

First,---- People that justify abortion as being murder are ignorant, selfless and fail to understand the decision a women has to make to either abort, keep or adopt her unborn baby. Murder is a malicious intent to kill and hurt something, would a mother ever want this??? NOOOO...
People that choose to abort are making this decision based on the past, present and future. If you never intented on having a child, then that sperm and egg were never suppose to meet anyways.
Abortion has been performed for thousands of years, based on the fact that the tribe/society would not be able to support another child being born. Population control is a very important part of maintaining a healthy society.
Human beings were never meant to be governed by law, why should there be a law that illegalizes abortion? The science of human life boils down Darwin's Theory :survival of the fittest. Sex, only insures survival of our species. but I think we all know that our species is going to survive abortion or not.
So why do people care soooooo much about what other peoples choices are?? Having an abortion should be the least concern of anyone, please care about your own family and needs and not anyone elses.
1 in 3 women by the age of 45 will have had an abortion. Its way more common than you think and will continue to be. We will only lose mother and unborn fetus if this issue becomes illegal. Why lose a life that is already living?
People that keep saying women who have abortions are sluts or whores are SOOOOOOOO WRONG!!! Every kind of woman can have, and probably has had an abortion. Doctors, Lawyers, MARRIED WOMEN!!! And to call these women sluts and whores is extremely rude and wrong, and your words "shouldn't" change a womans mind or make her feel "bad" because of what she did! --------
and Second, I would rather have someone have an abortion. having an abortion (wouldn't be considered murder -explained above-).
Throwing your child in the river is murder. When you have a full term, breathing, brain functioning, fully developed nervous system BABY, obviously this mothers intentions were to murder it. That baby had to suffer, causing pain. Obviously she shouldn't have become a mother in the first place.
For mothers that kill their baby;s purposefully are murderers. Mothers should never want to conflict pain on their helpless newborn, and obviously mothers that kill their newborns due just that in killing them.
baby's don't have a nervous system good enough to detect pain until 22 weeks. So abortions don't inflict pain, and even the 2 weeks after that, that abortions can still be performed, dr's will make it painless for the baby. Although in my opinion if you have to wait that long to have an abortion (unless the baby has a medical condition) then that mother is seriously wrong... although I still think that it was her choice and don't care one bit if someone makes that decision!

I think the mother throwing the baby in river is alot worse. But I think that abortion is the mothers choice. I had an abortion when i was 17 because of a rape, but I would never have another one, no matter what the circumstances. But i still feel that a woman has the right and should continue to have right. Perhaps women should be better informed about abortion and it's after effects... but that's it not a lecture on why it's bad... just a informational noncommital pamphlet or something

I think that both are the same thing. I believe a baby is a baby from conception, but even if others disagree, the medical science is clear that even at 6 or 8 weeks pregnant (when a woman generally finds out) her baby has a beating heart, clear arms, legs and beautiful little body. Women aborting at any time is wrong and if you go to any Crisis Pregnancy Centre you can see abortion videos where they are performed in all three trimesters. It is gruesome and clearly painful for the sweet baby. So no, it is no different to kill your child whether it be in you or out of you. Nor is it any different if the baby is bigger or smaller. After all, if a 6ft man wanted to kill a 4ft woman because she is small we would think he was insane!
I hear women say that they would rather terminate their pregnancy because they could not handle someone adopting and raising their child. Well, abortion is not a quick fix and Post Abortion Syndrome is clearly documented. Both choices, abortion and adoption are very very hard. But one brings life at the end of the day and the other brings death. We are moms from the time we become pregnant and while it can be hard, choosing to keep your baby safe in you is the first decision of parenting that some women have to make.
As for a mother killing her baby, I feel so sad. Somewhere along the line she started making bad choices and I think that we as a society are failing women who are in crisis. Things like Post Partum Psychosis and even forms of depression are left untreated, women get overwhelmed and need supportive outlets. What this woman did was very wrong however and we cannot condone it.

Abortion is something that should be a mother's choice. For me personally I couldn't imagine having one but it is what that person would have to live with. What you are discribing is one reason why it should be kept legal so that some might spare a newborn a few minutes of torture. I do not understand why though anyone would kill a newborn baby when it has been made legal to take it to a hospital, firehouse etc and drop it off no questions asked. Chances are the mother of this child was a scared kid that had hid the pregnancy from her parents and got rid of the baby afraid they would find out. This is why all parents of teenagers need to talk to them and let them know that although would be upset if it happened there are options and to come to them.

Western societies stigma against abortion is often the cause for cases like this. Women don't want to be pregnant but, they feel helpless and stuck being 'forced' to give birth. Abortion is obviously the better choice when it comes to the womans body (abortion is less physically and emotionally traumatising than full term pregnancy and child birth, it is less likely to kill you or cause any permanent damage to your body). Infanticide is murder. Why after? Why isn't abortion murder? Because after a child is born it is no longer a parasite feeding on the mothers body and doesn't need to depend on it's mother but, other people. During pregnancy the fetus is using the womans body and she can choose (and rightly so) if she wants to defend her body from pregnancy. If less people would tell lies about abortions or hate women and tell us that abortions are wrong and there was more education about birth control as well as abortion, less women would be stuck in the situation of having to care for a baby they never wanted.

i am really against both. Even though its the woman's body she still should not kill the baby with abortion. Its so wrong how they kill the babies. Even though that baby in the stomach is only 1 or 2 weeks it is still a life. That's how we all started out. I do think the government should ban abortion. I really don't want to criticize someone but i feel so much for those babies that were killed. Many doctors that perform the abortion of babies and even nurses who see all the babies being killed have quit their jobs. They said its was just to hurtful to keep on doing it or watching it. Even though all those babies were killed they are all in heaven now. Thank God.

I personaly dont agree with abortion being used as birth control. We have other things a person can use without going the abortion route. But I'm also for the women right to choice what happens to her body. I feel that in case of rape or if the mothers life is in danger then abortion is an option for the following reasons because the lady wasnt willing if she was rape. Its not fair to both the child and mother to have a child come 18 years later and ask "Mom, why didnt you want me" just to be told I was rape.
As for the mothers life being in danger, she either try again or we have hundreds of children in this world that need a good mother.

This issue is a really touchy topic because it can create alot of issue and controversy. I am pro-choice, so the mother can decide whether or not to abort the baby or not but the baby has no descion in the matter. What I mean is, what if the baby wants to live? how would we ever know that? That is why only the mother has the choice and makes the choice for them. Is abortion only wrong when the baby is a living thing? when do you consider it alive? At what stage of development in the womb do you consider it a living thing?

That is tragic for all involved. Abortion is always a viable option and I don't understand why the mother in this scenario didn't pursue that avenue. If you feel strongly that it is wrong there are lots of people who would have been more than willing to help out. The poor thing must have felt so all alone with no where to turn to take the drastic measures that she and or anyone else involved did.
