I think it's annoying. I pull up next to some guys in a car with the windows down and the bass blasting, and they look over at me like I'm supposed to be impressed. wtf.

It's not to get attention I'm a guy with a system in my car I have one 10 inch sub and I like the way it sounds. The bass sounds good and makes the music come to life. I got to turn my radio up to 32 to get bass. Plus music sounds better louder.

Oh, it annoys the hell out of me too!!! They just don't get the point. If every creation must have a creator, then god(s) must have one too. And that creator also has a creator who also has his creator, etc. It makes your head spin. But what annoys me more is the creationists who accept that god always was/is/will be, but refuse to give the Big Bang theory a chance. You know what's funny? If they had the guts to consider that theory, they'd even realize that in a weird way it's compatible with the concept of god. Meh. I'll stop giving them ideas.

some of its to get attention, but it's more of an addiction i think. like when a guy revs his engine at a light when sitting next to another nice car. it's a competition thing, once you start into it, you cant stop until you have something louder than the next guy. go check out
www.stevemeadedesignes.com he's got a few systems, he has alot of pictures and videos

It is a rodent repellent essential for that kind of heap and helps me
aim my shotgun in the right direction. The vibration keeps the flywheel turning otherwise the car could not possibly run on its own. It is also used to up-right the narrow cars that have tipped over usually for the same reason.

when i had my system i loved the sound of it but it's true it does have allot to do with attention but like i said not everybody is in it for the attention. the ones who turn it up so loud that it distorts are in it for the attention. I was in it cause i like the sound of music with allot of bass but i also had allot of highs

Personally...I love the bass....and I'm a female. I love to feel the music and listen to my music loud. but again, I don't do it all the time. it's just when I'm in the mood to listen to my music loud I'll turn it up. and no, it's not to get attention either....but yes, some guys love to get some attention, and some just love loud music.

I think it is to get attention because some girls are car hoes and bass freaks so a guy feels that if he hook his car up and put some bass in it he can get any girl he wants.

I do it because I like it. I'll turn it down in traffic or late at night in residential areas though. In traffic though if someone is annoying the crap out of me in front of me & I'm behind them at a red light, usually they're on a cell phone, and I like to try to disrupt their conversation. I know it's throwing ignorance at ignorance but sometimes it encourages them to get away from me. Other than that I'm not out to impress anyone. If anything it's an invitation for someone to steal your system.
* Oooow, I must have angered one of those cell phone drivers with my answer to get a thumbs down...TOO BAD!

My boyfriend likes to do this. He does it partically because he likes the attention (and to "show up" other people), he loves listening to the bass, and it also makes him feel like a bad@$$.
