Labradors (black or blonde) and golden retrievers are gorgeously cute as pups, and get to be pretty good sized dogs when they grow up. You can also go look at www.petfinder.com and see what they have in puppies in medium to large dogs. That'll give you some pictures and some names of breeds. Your mom can see how cute they really are, too. If she wants one that'll still be 'cute' when it grows up, try a springer spaniel or a standard poodle.

It is irresponsible to choose a dog on size and how cute alone. Please look further into the breeds you may consider. Take into account what they are bred for ,activity level, I.E. how much and what kind of play and exercise will they need to be happy. What kind of coat, Will they require grooming. This is a big commitment be responsible about who you choose.

Standard poodles are fabulous companion big dogs. They don't shed and they love people. They aren't yippie wild dogs, but they really must be obedience trained in order to control them. They are strong and they act like puppies for years.

Just about all of them. One that will really fit is a great dane. They weigh about 9lbs as puppies (just like a human baby) and grow to over 90lbs (just like a kid)
