Ive studied Islam since 911. I have read the entire Quran. Spoke to hundreds of Muslims. Talked to Imams...one on the phone for three hours! I have read the Tasfeers (interpretation of Quran) of many sects. I have read much of the Sunnah. I have studied the history of Islam.

BOLD CLAIM "Every single person (non-muslim) you hear who apologizes for Islam, hasnt studied it." I have never met a person, who has studied Islam who was also an apologist. Even the more liberal professors, of religious studies, who are scholars with respect to Islam...if you listen carefully to them...say exactly what I say. Test this people. Go online and try to find professors with specific focus on Islam. Not simply the broad "religious studies".

Now, as a rule, one should not make categorical claims, cause it is rare in life that they ever work. However, I offer this truth...this claim...without any hesitation. Test it. I beg you...thats when you start "getting it".

The truth certainly was spoken by you on this subject. I as well had studied and know Islam. After having done so, it is impossible to be an apologist for Islam.

Pill of Truth I applaud you and your efforts taking the time to research and understand the Islamic religion and its practitioners.
Growing up in the south I have encountered many closed minded people who do not know the first thing about Islam yet are the first ones to deride it and all it stands for. I also have not heard of Protestants apologizing for their religion either. It is inherent in any belief system that in order to be a believer, you do not apologize for your beliefs because that would shake the very foundations of your said belief.
However I think we are dealing in semantics. The focus should be on individuals who stray from the tenants of the religion and do things that are against the original teachings set forth by the religion. Each of us have choices to make and being human sometimes those choices are wrong so I think that you can decry the actions of an individual without making a blanket statement about a group of people or a religion.

Hmmm, nice idea of only it stood up to scrutiny. Y'see, I couldn't give a monkeys about Islam, but if I lived in an Islamic country then I would have very little choice about what religion I could subscribe to - it would be Islam or nothing, under fear of persecution (at best) or death at worst. Islam is not tolerant of non-Islamic beliefs. It does not respect the right of individuals to make their own religious choices. It claims to be a religion of peace, yet ever Islamic state I have studied crushes its people into obedience. When its in a weak state, say in a predominately non-Islamic state it is 'tolerant' but as soon as it gets into a position of strenght it suddenly becomes aggressive, demanding others change their lives to fit in with it. The current brand of Islam does itself no favours and brings much of its troubles on itself.

A bit like criticizing an endocrinologist for having a background in general medicine, surely this HELPS not hinders!most professors will have religious studies degrees, but that goes for Buddhism or Hinduism in the west also, it's pretty much only Christians who can just do Theology, and they will have Philosophical, Classical or Linguistic backgrounds, should we criticize or laud them for that? don't you understand something by having something to compare it to?
Take Americans who are convinced they are in the best country but have never lived abroad, same thing with someone who doesn't know anything about other religions other than their own.

Well those who claim to apologize for or bash Islam (who are non-Muslim) normally get their information from second hand sources (the media, and other Muslims they've heard of or met)...

I do not apologize for Islam (I think it, like most other religions has much to answer for...) rather I apologize for the poor people who are labeled into the same group as Osama and Fiends.

I would say anyone who doesn't look into or at least have a basic understanding of a religion really doesn't have the right to point out any flaws in it.

Can we please be real!? Islam is a compassionless cult determined to take over the world. They are like the Borg on Star Trek: "Assimilate or die."

And yes, I've read the Koran!
