It is not the dumbest person who doesn't know the answer, it is the one who doesn't go and get the answer. Someone famous said but I can't remember who. I think this is useful in helping understand concepts you don't understand.

Yes, it does. Have you ever heard the saying, "If you cheat, you only cheat yourself!" Well, that's exactly what is happening to those who use this to do their homework. When it comes time to take their test, they won't know what to do and worse yet when they need it later in life they will be lost.

I can't tell you how many time I have been at Mc Donalds, Wendy's, Burger King and/or Taco Bell and have given the person some paper money, and then added some change and the person behind the counter didn't know what to give me back in change, because he/she didn't have the register to help them out.

It's gotten to a point where we can't even buy anything with cash, even if we know what the price is of the items are during a power outage, because stores don't have any procedures to do business and most of the staff are too dumb to be able to handle it.

Back when I was in retail, we use to hand write all the invoices and add them up ourselves and figure out the sales tax. I was in a Wendy's last week and the young guy behind the counter couldn't even operate a simple calculator, he had to have the manager come over and help him; that's pathetic!

I guess, we need garbage men and people working in dead end jobs like fast food joints, so go ahead and keep cheating you're only hurting yourself.

What's the problem? Life's hard enough to reject solutions that can make our life easier. Cheat - maybe the kid that got the response understands the deal, he will remember the answer better, i assure you. Why when the world is so full of huge injustices that we 'accept', we go against some little 'irregularity' that can really help someone. Why try to pretend perfection in such things that can actually relief people from burdens. One thing i know for sure is, as long as i don't harm anyone and it makes my life easier and more pleasant i will use it! I stopped judging and attacking and started concentrating more on my own welfare than trying to set obstacles to people! And no, it's not destructive, it always helped me understand my homework a lot more that just remaining 'silly' and having no idea! I actually did something about it~Sorry i wrote so much, but i had to get if off my chest ugh!

by this system do u mean yahoo answers? Sure its easy to cheat, but if everyone wants to copy off of someone else, nobody actually does the work. Besides when u dont do the homework, u fail the test, trust me, i know from experience. I didnt cheat, but i just stopped doing the homework. Grades went D O W N!

It is not destructive, homework doesnt work that way...

homework is set in the full understanding that it is possible to look up or ask for the answer, but the answer is not important, its the process of finding out the answer thats is what homework is for.

I don't mind answering single problems. I choose not to answer lists where someone posts a dozen math problems and asks for answers. I know there have been plenty of times where just seeing one good example has helped me understand a concept, and I don't mind giving that kind of help to others.

No doubt some people here are stupid enough to just copy down answers without understanding them. They'll end up failing miserably on their tests. That's their choice, so be it.

Kids who do homework this way will make good managers one day. Managers are praised for getting other people to do their work well. I'm sure it involves selling your soul to the devil at some point, but at least they get paid well.

You know, I agree with you. However, when it comes time to take an exam and there is no one giving an answer, well, maybe then it will be realized by those seeking "help" should have learned how to do it for themselves.

Haha. :) You're right, in a way, I guess. But what if kids really do need help? I'm more willing to give the help then keep it from them.
